If you live here in the United States you might be aware of a little thing we call the NFL. Are any of you also football fans? Our house is a Pittsburgh Steeler house even though we live in the middle of Bronco country. 🙂 Needless to say it is a lot easier to find orange and blue that black and gold swag around these parts. But of course that is neither here nor there to us / we? DIYer’s. Continue reading “Football Fan Bracelet Upcycled From Magazine Paper”
Last weekend the hubby and I went with some friends to our local festival know as the Piratefest. It is fairly similar to most summer time festivals with food trucks, booths and beer, of course there is a pirate theme to all of it there is the cardboard boat regatta and a pirate ball. And pirate costumes are highly encouraged at all of the events. Continue reading “Upcycled / Thrifted Pirate Costumes”
I am knee deep in a couple of different projects this week but I have not quite pulled any one of them together yet. So for today’s post I will take you back to last Christmas for another one of my zany gifts. This may, in fact, be the most zany of them all. I call it the “little paper pig purse”. It does not really resemble a pig but some how that is the only name for it. To make this story even a little crazier I have to admit, that this is not the only purse I have made out of magazine paper. You may have seen my post on the paper mustache purse a few months ago. I guess you will have to be the judge on which one is the craziest. Continue reading “Paper Clam Shell Purse – Upcycled from Magazines”
Did you know you could make hard plastic shapes from styrofoam? Well that’s what we are doing today in the lab. It’s part fun science part silly craft project. To start we need to make a mold for our project. Continue reading “Hard Plastic Bracelet Upcycled From A Styrofoam Take Out Container”
I am trying to age as gracefully as I can. However, given that I wasn’t that graceful to begin with it is difficult to ascertain how well I am doing. Adding to the confusion is the question of whether or not one should, in fact “act their age” or, “embrace their inner child.” Which of these is the more graceful path I wonder? Are you like me always putting things off until the last minute? Well as you probably already know Mothers day is this Sunday and as usual I am still working on my gifts. Continue reading “Last Minute Mothers Day Gift DIY”

Good Morning or Afternoon or Evening to you,
It is snowy and cold outside as I write this but I really can’t complain . We have had a very mild winter so far and March is just around the corner. I have been working on a few projects around the house lately and have not been up to my usual crafty behaviors. Therefore I will share with you the making of a paper mustache purse that I made for one of my nieces for Christmas.
Have I mentioned that my family are always good sports when it come to my crazy gift ideas? Well they are.
I have to admit that the idea in my head for this gift seemed so crazy that I almost switched up the design. After all I was already making a purse out of paper. Wasn’t that crazy enough? Continue reading “Upcycled Magazine Paper Mustache Purse (Yep :-)”
If you are not a football fan you may not be as excited about play off season as we are here in our little neck of the woods. Our neck is in Colorado so you might make us for Bronco fans but you would be wrong. Our house is a little satellite territory of Steeler Country. So, we are facing Kansas City with high hopes this coming Sunday. As you might guess we have just a little bit of black and gold apparel from jerseys to jackets and hats to gloves.
